The Hidden Information pattern, frequently overlapping with “Sneaking” and “Interface Interference,” deliberately obscures critical details—such as auto-renewal clauses, additional fees, or extensive data-sharing agreements—by displacing them from the user's primary visual locus. Unlike complete omission, the information technically exists within the interface but is rendered practically invisible. This is achieved through typographical camouflage (diminutive font sizes and low contrast), spatial displacement (placing terms far below the “fold”), or structural burial within massive, unformatted blocks of legal jargon. The pattern weaponizes reading fatigue and established visual heuristics, assuming the user will not actively hunt for information that is purposefully visually downgraded or epistemically obstructed.
